Make new things ==<br /><br />Would you like to play? Whether you're a developer,
maker, or just starting to learn about open source development, we have what you
need to bring your ideas to reality. Here's a peek at some of our new
tools:<br /><br />* Developer's Assistant is a tool for new developers that helps
you to get started on a code project by offering templates, samples, and
toolchains for a variety of languages. And when you're finished, you can publish
directly to GitHub! <br /><br />* 3D modelling and printing are supported with
OpenSCAD, Skeinforge, SFACT, Printrun, RepetierHost, and other tool options. Get
printing without having to download binary blobs or run Python code from git.
<br /><br />* OpenShift Origin makes it easy for you to build your own
Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) infrastructure, allowing you to enable others to
easily develop and deploy software.<br /><br />* node.js is a popular
Javascript-based platform for those building scalable network applications or
real-time apps across distributed devices. <br /><br />* Ruby 2.0.0 moves into
Fedora but keeps source-level backwards compatibility with your Ruby 1.9.3
software. We're also giving you a custom Ruby loader to use to easily switch
interpreters.<br /><br />* MariaDB offers a truly open MySQL implementation and is
now the default MySQL option in Fedora.<br /><br />== Deploy, Monitor, and Manage
==<br />You don't have to work so hard when your machines are doing it for you.
Regardless of how many you have, Fedora 19 helps you boot-manage your systems
and gives you the tools you need for diagnosis, monitoring, and
logging.<br /><br />* systemd Resource Control is one of many systemd enhancements
in this release. It lets you modify your service settings without a reboot by
dynamically querying and modifying resource control parameters at runtime.
<br /><br />* Kerberos administrators no longer need their clients to sync their
clocks or to have reverse DNS records carefully setup for services. Fedora 19
also includes Kerberos-enabled, LDAP replicated, two-factor authentication for
FreeIPA. <br /><br />* Checkpoint & Restore lets you checkpoint and restore a
process. It is useful for issues like process failure or moving a process to
another machine for maintenance or load balancing. <br /><br />* OpenLMI is a common
infrastructure for the management of Linux systems that makes remote management
of machines much simpler. </span></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif; line-height: 19px;">*** Downloads, upgrades, documentation, and common bugs ***<br /><br />Start by

before the release of Fedora 19. Only critical bug fixes will be pushed as
updates, leading up to the general release of Fedora 19. Join us in making
Fedora 19 a<br />solid release by downloading, testing, and providing your
valuable feedback. <br /><br />Of course, this is a beta release, meaning that
some problems may still be lurking. A list of the problems we already know
about is found at the Common F19 bugs page, seen here:<br /><a href="https://sjp-outlook.wipro.com/owa/redir.aspx?C=a4ni4JQtxEC0FoyMStxVIzBdIFw5LtAIe6T3KpE8msswfe9SX3zOP4dVh6D81kDCY4cw97LP36g.&URL=http%3a%2f%2ffedoraproject.org%2fwiki%2fCommon_F19_bugs" target="_blank">http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Common_F19_bugs</a><br /><br />****
Features ****<br /><br />Fedora 19 continues the long tradition of bringing the
latest technologies to open source software users. No matter what you do
with open source, Fedora 19 has the tools you need to help you get
things done. <br /><br />A complete list with details of each new feature is
available here:<br /><br /><a href="https://sjp-outlook.wipro.com/owa/redir.aspx?C=a4ni4JQtxEC0FoyMStxVIzBdIFw5LtAIe6T3KpE8msswfe9SX3zOP4dVh6D81kDCY4cw97LP36g.&URL=http%3a%2f%2ffedoraproject.org%2fwiki%2fReleases%2f19%2fFeatureList" target="_blank">http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Releases/19/FeatureList</a><br /><br />===
Make new things ===<br /><br />* 3D modelling and printing are enabled through a variety of
tools, including OpenSCAD, Skeinforge, SFACT, Printrun, and RepetierHost.
By bringing 3D printing tools into Fedora, you can get started with<br />
what's ready-to-go in the repositories without having to download binary
blobs or run Python code from git. <br /><br />* OpenShift Origin makes it easy for
you to build your own Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) infrastructure, allowing
you to enable others to easily develop and deploy software.<br /><br />*
node.js is a popular Javascript-based platform for those building scalable
network applications or real-time apps across distributed devices. Also
included is the npm package manager, providing access to over 20,000
programs and libraries available under free and open source
licenses.<br /><br />* Ruby 2.0.0, just released in February, comes to Fedora
while maintaining source-level backwards compatibility with your Ruby
1.9.3 software. Also included: a custom Ruby loader for easy switching
of<br /> interpreters.<br /><br />* MariaDB, a community-developed fork of MySQL, is
the default implementation of MySQL in Fedora 19, offering users a truly
open MySQL implementation. <br /><br />=== Get things done ===<br /><br />*
Federated VOIP means Fedora users can make calls using a user@domain address with the same convenience as email. <br /><br />* CUPS has been updated to
the latest upstream release, using PDF rather than PostScript as the
baseline document format. <br /><br />=== Learn ===<br /><br />* Developer's Assistant
is great for those new to development or even new to Linux, this tool helps
you to get started on a code project with templates, samples, and
toolchains for the languages of your<br /> choice. Bonus: It lets you publish
directly to GitHub.<br /><br />=== Deploy, Monitor, and Manage ===<br />Make your
machines work for you--not the other way around. Whether you have one or "one
too many" machines, Fedora 19 helps you boot manage your systems and enables
you to be proactive with tools for diagnosis, monitoring, and
logging.<br /><br />* Syslinux optional boot tool integration brings you
optional, simplified booting of Fedora. We have added support for
using syslinux instead of GRUB via kickstart and plan to add a hidden<br />
option in Anaconda installer as well. syslinux is especially ideal for
images used in cloud environments and virt appliances where the advanced
features of GRUB are not needed. <br /><br />* Among other systemd enhancements in
this release, systemd Resource Control lets you modify your service
settings without a reboot by dynamically querying and modifying resource
control parameters at<br /> runtime.<br /><br />* Kerberos administrators will enjoy
an easier experience, thanks to Fedora 19 removing the need for Kerberos
clients to sync their clocks or to have reverse DNS records carefully setup
for services. In<br /> addition, it provies Kerberos-enabled, LDAP replicated,
two-factor authentication for FreeIPA. <br /><br />* OpenLMI is a common
infrastructure for the management of Linux systems that makes remote
management of machines much simpler.<br /><br />**** Desktop Environments and Spins

Now I was curious to set it up and login to its terminal. If you want to know how to get started with Raspberry Pi you can go through this link:<br />
<br />
<a class="bbcode_url" href="http://www.raspberrypi.org/quick-start-guide" id="yui_3_7_3_1_1363265153730_716" style="background-color: whitesmoke; color: #4a9ef7; font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;" target="_blank">http://www.raspberrypi.org/quick-start-guide</a><br />
<a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/09/04/raspberry-pi-getting-started-guide-how-to/" target="_blank">http://www.engadget.com/2012/09/04/raspberry-pi-getting-started-guide-how-to/</a><br />
<br />
I prepared my SD card and also I had the power connector to power up the Pi. My only problem was that I did not had HDMI enabled monitor nor did I had the TV. I had to purchase an HDMI enabled Monitor, but it was too expensive and I already had a Monitor.<br />
<br />
I had got other alternatives to get connected to R-Pi. One was that I buy a HDMI to VGA adaptor cable. But when I searched throught the internet, the HDMI to VGA adaptor was quite expensive. The cheaper ones were not good for the low powered Pi.<br />
<br />
The other option was the usage of USB to TTL cable. Just to log into Pi, I had to purchase this USB to TTL cable and it did not seem to be a good choice. Also it wasnt that cheap too.<br />
<br />
I was left with only one option. That was connecting the Pi with my Linux PC with the Ethenet cable. I searched the internet to figure out how to connect to R-Pi from my PC. I got a lot of links which would explain the process of connecting to the Pi from the PC via SSH. But none of these tutorials explained how to connect to R-Pi via PC for the first time.<br />
<br />
Finally I decided to connect to the Pi with peer-to-peer connection. To be able to get connected via p2p I had to edit the IP address of both the devices. I could change the IP address of my PC, but how could I change the IP address of the Pi which was never logged in?<br />
<br />
What I did for this purpose was I mounted the SD card into my PC and edited the required files in the SD card. Then I just inserted the SD card into the Pi and powered it on after connecting the LAN cable in P2P fashoin. I then SSHed into the Raspberry Pi and was able to login successfully.<br />
<br />
I was just happy to figure out that I could log in to Raspberry Pi without connecting the Monitor to the Pi even for the first time.<br />
<br />
Steps needed to connect to Raspberry Pi for the first time from your PC.<br />
<br />
1. Insert the SD card into your PC, which contains the Raspberry Pi OS.<br />
2. Mount the data section of the SD card.<br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
$ sudo mount /dev/sdc2 /mnt<br />
$ cd /mnt</blockquote>
3. Edit the network interface config file<br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
$ vi etc/network/interfaces </blockquote>
Note that there is no / at the start of the file path.<br />
Make sure the following is fed properly into that file:<br />
<br />
<br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
auto eth0<br />
iface eth0 inet static<br />
address 192.168.1.3<br />
netmask 255.255.255.0</blockquote>
<br />
<br />
Save the file and remove the SD card. Put it in the Raspberry Pi. Remember to connect the LAN cable to both the systems.<br />
Note that the IP address of your PC should be somewhat <b>192.168.1.2</b><br />
Start the Raspberrry Pi. Now connect to it via ssh.<br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
$ ssh pi@192.168.1.3</blockquote>
<br />
Enjoy your Pi.Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-936113859701796819.post-30567030211206331682013-01-15T20:47:00.003-08:002013-01-15T20:47:54.363-08:00Fedora 16 reaching its end of lifeFedora 16 will reach end of life on 2013-02-12, and no further updates<br />will

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The user interface for Fedora's installation software, Anaconda, has been
completely re-written from the ground up. Making its debut in Fedora 18, the new
UI introduces major improvements to the installation experience. It uses a
hub-and-spoke model that makes installation easier for new users, offering them
concise explanations about their choices. Advanced users and system
administrators are of course still able to take advantage of more complex
options. The general look and feel of the installation experience has been
vastly upgraded, providing modern, clean, and comprehensible visuals during the
process. While the new installer should work well for most users in most
configurations, there are inevitably a few teething problems in the first
release of such a major revision. <br />
<br />
Known design limitations of the new
installer in F18 are listed here: <a href="https://sjp-outlook.wipro.com/owa/redir.aspx?C=pkD1iygsg0C2OhBOHNwotdiCrpF3xs8IcEOCoUElXMMTZ2mEAlINJyBB1qzHsAeH32Hgou_44V0.&URL=http%3a%2f%2ffedoraproject.org%2fwiki%2fAnaconda%2fNewInstaller" target="_blank">http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Anaconda/NewInstaller</a><br />

<div>
About the Upgrade process:</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The upgrade process for Fedora now uses a new tool called FedUp (Fedora
Upgrader). FedUp replaces pre-upgrade as well as the DVD methods for upgrading
that have been used in previous Fedora releases. FedUp integrates with systemd
to enable the upgrade functionality, doing the work in a pristine boot
environment. You can upgrade from Fedora 17 to Fedora 18.</div>

Finally I got the logic and at the same time there was code for it. I thought there is some mistake in the code. There was no compiler in the machine I was working. So I searched for an online compiler. I could not find one, but recently I found the link in one of the blogs I was following. This is one of the great options of installing Linux to your system.<br />
All you need is:<br />
1. A partition of EXT2/EXT3 or FAT32.<br />
2. An ISO installable image of any Linux Distro.<br />
I am going to give a tutorial for Fedora Distro. For others you can refer to the Table which I have provided below.<br />
First step is to create a directory under root directory "/"<br />
<code>mkdir /fedora mkdir -p /fedora/images</code><br />
Copy the downloaded image file to /fedora directory.<br />
<code>cp /home/user/Fedora-11-i386-DVD.iso /fedora</code><br />
Now all you have to do is to copy 3 of the files from this image file. You can either extract this image file and copy both the files or you can mount this file and then copy these 3 files to the /fedora directory.<br />
The three files which are needed to copy are "vmlinuz" "initrd.img" and "image/install.img"<br />
I will go for the mount option, just because it wont take any extra space.<br />
<code>mount -o loop /fedora/Fedora-11-i386-DVD.iso /media/iso</code><br />
Note you have to create a directory called /media/iso before executing the above command.<br />
Now enter into this directory:<br />
<code>cd /media/iso/isolinux</code><br />
Copy the files:<br />
<code>cp vmlinuz initrd.img /fedora cp images/install.img /fedora/images</code><br />
That's all for the setup. Now you have to edit the grub which is responsible to boot image files.<br />
<code>vi /boot/grub/menu.lst</code><br />
or<br />
<code>vi /boot/grub/grub.conf</code><br />
Append the following into the file:<br />
<code>title Install Fedora 11 kernel /fedora/vmlinuz initrd /fedora/initrd.img</code><br />
The title is the title which you want to display in the GRUB menu.<br />
The ‘root’ is the hard disk partition that contains the ISO image.<br />
The ‘kernel’ is the Linux kernel, which we copied into /fedora directory.<br />
The ‘initrd’ is the initial RAM disk image, which gets into the RAM.<br />
Now you are ready to install your new Linux distro directly from the hard disk without the need for a CD/DVD drive. Reboot your system and select the ‘Install Fedora 11’ entry from your GRUB menu.<br />
Follow the onscreen instruction and you are ready with a new distro without any hassle to burn DVDs.<br />
<table border="0"><tbody>
<tr> <th>Table 1: Names of kernel and RAM disk images in some popular distros</th> </tr>
<tr> <td><b>Distro</b></td> <td><b> Kernel path</b></td> <td><b> RAM disk path</b></td> </tr>
<tr> <td>Fedora/RHEL/CentOS</td> <td>/isolinux/vmlinuz</td> <td>/isolinux/initrd.img</td> </tr>

Almost all distros come with a <a class="zem_slink" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Package_management_system" title="Package management system" rel="wikipedia">package manager</a> like yum for Fedora, apt-get for Ubuntu, Portage for <a class="zem_slink" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gentoo_Linux" title="Gentoo Linux" rel="wikipedia">Gentoo</a> etc... It is more easier to use these package managers than to install softwares in Windows. If you know what software you want just tell these package managers and they will find the package, download it, install it and even configure it for you. You don't have to keep on pressing Next button and path to save the file.<br /><br />However, sometimes many of the software do not fall into the distribution's repos. In this case you have to download such software. These software come as either <a class="zem_slink" href="http://rpm.org/" title="RPM Package Manager" rel="homepage">RPM</a> files or tar balls. Often these software come as a tar ball (<span style="font-style: italic;">.tar, </span><em style="font-style: italic;"><a class="zem_slink" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tar_%28file_format%29" title="Tar (file format)" rel="wikipedia">tar.gz</a></em><span style="font-style: italic;">, </span><em style="font-style: italic;">.tar.bz</em><span style="font-style: italic;">, or </span><em style="font-style: italic;">.tgz</em>). Wherein you have to compile the <a class="zem_slink" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Source_code" title="Source code" rel="wikipedia">source code</a> for your computer and run it, all by yourself. You may find it irritating to do so, but it is easy and quick.<br /><br /><h3>Step 1: Extract the tarball</h3><pre class="bash" style="font-family:monospace;"><span style="color: rgb(51, 0, 153); font-weight: bold;"></span><blockquote><span style="color: rgb(51, 0, 153); font-weight: bold;">tar</span> <span style="color: rgb(102, 0, 51);">-zxvf</span> mytarball.tar.gz</blockquote></pre><p>The options we gave to <em>tar</em> are as follows:</p> <ul><li>-z to tell tar to filter this file (archive) through <a class="zem_slink" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gzip" title="Gzip" rel="wikipedia">gzip</a> to decompress (use -j for <span style="font-style: italic;">.bzip</span> files)</li><li>-x to extract the files (-c to create an archive)<br /></li><li>-v for “verbose”, so we can see a list of the files it's extracting (Optional)<br /></li><li>-f to tell tar that we’re working with a file</li></ul>After this operation you will get a directory with the same name as that of the tarball file. If the tarball filename is <span style="font-style: italic;">mytarball.tat.gz</span> then the directory name will be <span style="font-style: italic;">mytarball</span>. Now go to this directory using the command <span style="color: rgb(51, 0, 153);">cd</span>.<br /><h3>Step 2: Configure.</h3>This step checks your system for all dependencies the source code need to make and executable file. So after the first step all you have to do is to issue the following command at the promt:<br /><blockquote>./configure</blockquote>If all goes well it’ll go through a check of various parts of your system, then drop you back to the prompt again. If anything fails you may get some dependency errors. Which states that you need to install that software first. check for that software in the repo using the package manager.<br /><br /><h3>Step 3: Make.</h3>Here is the step in which you do the actual compilation of the souce code. If the above step completed without any error a <a class="zem_slink" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Make_%28software%29" title="Make (software)" rel="wikipedia">Makefile</a> will be created in the directory and then you can issue the following command:<br /><blockquote style="color: rgb(51, 0, 153);">make</blockquote>This may take a few minutes depending on size of the software. If everything goes fine you will get the prompt back again with a success message.<br /><h3>Step 4: Install.</h3>In this step the command basically does is to copy the compiled executable file to the required directories so that running this program will be lot easier. This step needs root previlages as it will access those directories which you do not have permission to modify. Hence you need to login as <a class="zem_slink" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superuser" title="Superuser" rel="wikipedia">super user</a> by using the command <span style="color: rgb(51, 0, 153);">su</span>. It will ask for a root password and once you login successfully you can issue the following command:<br /><pre class="bash" style="font-family:monospace;"><span style="color: rgb(194, 12, 185); font-weight: bold;"></span><blockquote><span style="color: rgb(194, 12, 185); font-weight: bold;">make</span> <span style="color: rgb(51, 0, 51); font-weight: bold;">install<br /></span></blockquote><span style="color: rgb(194, 12, 185); font-weight: bold;"></span></pre>At this point of time you are all done to run the installed software.<br />However many software needs to be compiled in a different way. So it is better recommended that you read both the README file and the INSTALL file.<br /> <div style="margin-top: 10px; height: 15px;" class="zemanta-pixie"><a class="zemanta-pixie-a" href="http://reblog.zemanta.com/zemified/70103a2f-0195-470e-8010-38ed75aee72e/" title="Reblog this post [with Zemanta]"><img style="border: medium none ; float: right;" class="zemanta-pixie-img" src="http://img.zemanta.com/reblog_c.png?x-id=70103a2f-0195-470e-8010-38ed75aee72e" alt="Reblog this post [with Zemanta]" /></a><span class="zem-script more-related"><script type="text/javascript" src="http://static.zemanta.com/readside/loader.js" defer="defer"></script></span></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-936113859701796819.post-34818620018928601172009-07-03T19:06:00.000-07:002009-08-27T09:44:10.696-07:00Pidgin will not be in Fedora 12<p class="zemanta-img" style="margin: 1em; float: right; display: block; width: 279px;"><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:RH-Fedora_logo-nonfree.png"><img src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/2/2c/RH-Fedora_logo-nonfree.png" alt="Linux distribution" style="border: medium none ; display: block;" width="269" height="116" /></a><span class="zemanta-img-attribution">Image via <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:RH-Fedora_logo-nonfree.png">Wikipedia</a></span></p>As I was going through the <a href="https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Releases/12/FeatureList">Features of Fedora 12</a>, I was amazed to see this big change. <a href="http://www.pidgin.im/">Pidgin</a> will not be default <a class="zem_slink" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instant_messaging" title="Instant messaging" rel="wikipedia">IM client</a> in Fedora 12. Even Ubuntu is replacing Pidgin with Empathy. May be the main reason is that, Pidgin does not support Voice and Video chat. For new installations, Fedora will be using Empathy.<br /><a href="http://mail.gnome.org/archives/devel-announce-list/2008-August/msg00001.html">Source article</a><br /><br />A detailed list of differences between Emapthy and Pidgin is available in this link: <a href="https://wiki.ubuntu.com/EmpathyVsPidginUsability">Pidgin vs Empathy</a><br /><br />Pidgin was rocking as an instant messenger on my <a class="zem_slink" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Client_%28computing%29" title="Client (computing)" rel="wikipedia">desktop</a>. There is some sense in replacing such a good IM client with Empathy by the greats like Fedora and Ubuntu.<br /><br />May be the reason behind Pidgin being discarded is that it never tried to support voice chat or video chat. So "Keep updated and survive" should be the motto for them.<br /><br /> <fieldset class="zemanta-related"><legend class="zemanta-related-title">Related articles by Zemanta</legend><ul class="zemanta-article-ul"><li class="zemanta-article-ul-li"><a href="http://fedora-help.blogspot.com/2009/08/how-to-add-twitter-twitgin-in-pidgin.html">How to add Twitter (twitgin) in Pidgin for Linux</a> (fedora-help.blogspot.com)</li><li class="zemanta-article-ul-li"><a href="http://fedora-help.blogspot.com/2009/07/pidgin-yahoo-problem-in-fedora.html">Pidgin/Kopete (Yahoo) problem in Fedora Linux</a> (fedora-help.blogspot.com)</li><li class="zemanta-article-ul-li"><a href="http://fedora-help.blogspot.com/2009/07/front-panel-mic-problem-in-fedora-11.html">Front Panel Mic Problem in Fedora 11</a> (fedora-help.blogspot.com)</li></ul></fieldset> <div style="margin-top: 10px; height: 15px;" class="zemanta-pixie"><a class="zemanta-pixie-a" href="http://reblog.zemanta.com/zemified/392a5d99-5385-48d8-8efe-ef9b6772f853/" title="Reblog this post [with Zemanta]"><img style="border: medium none ; float: right;" class="zemanta-pixie-img" src="http://img.zemanta.com/reblog_c.png?x-id=392a5d99-5385-48d8-8efe-ef9b6772f853" alt="Reblog this post [with Zemanta]" /></a><span class="zem-script more-related more-info pretty-attribution paragraph-reblog"><script type="text/javascript" src="http://static.zemanta.com/readside/loader.js" defer="defer"></script></span></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-936113859701796819.post-9472585857433172742009-07-03T04:28:00.000-07:002009-07-03T18:43:39.933-07:00Pidgin/Kopete (Yahoo) problem in Fedora LinuxYou might have faced problems logging into yahoo with <a href="www.pidgin.im">pidgin</a>. And pidgin throwing this error:<br /><span style="font-weight: bold;"></span><blockquote><span style="font-weight: bold;">" Could not establish a connection with the <a class="zem_slink" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Server_%28computing%29" title="Server (computing)" rel="wikipedia">server</a>:Error resolving scs.msg.yahoo.com . Name or service not known"</span></blockquote>The problem with pidgin connecting to yahoo server is that yahoo is upgrading some of its servers to match up with the new way of authentication. Upgradation of servers is not an issue at all. But the new type of authentication mechanism is making the pidgin not getting connected.<br /><br />Anyway. Here is the temporary solution.<br />Change your <a class="zem_slink" href="http://www.yahoo.com/" title="Yahoo!" rel="homepage">Yahoo</a> account's Pager Server field (located on the Advanced tab when editing the account) to '<span style="font-style: italic;">scsa.msg.yahoo.com</span>'.<br />Just press 'Ctrl+a' from the pidgin window. Then select an account and press modify. Then press the advanced tab and change the Pager Server field from <span style="font-style: italic;" class="fullpost">scs.msg.yahoo.com</span><span style="font-style: italic;"> </span> to <span style="font-style: italic;">scsa.msg.yahoo.com<br /></span>If this url does not work then try using this one <span style="font-style: italic;" class="fullpost">cn.scs.msg.yahoo.com</span><span style="font-style: italic;"><br /></span>This fix should work for the time being until yahoo makes further changes.<span style="font-style: italic;"><span style="font-style: italic;"></span><br /><br /></span>A better way is to update your pidgin to 2.5.8 until pidgin 2.6 arrives.<span style="font-style: italic;"><br /></span><br />There is a same issue with <a class="zem_slink" href="http://www.kde.org/" title="KDE" rel="homepage">KDE</a> based <a class="zem_slink" href="http://kopete.kde.org/" title="Kopete" rel="homepage">kopete</a>. Doing around with the above url should solve the problem. kopete is now coming up with an updated version.<br /><br /><a href="http://theflamingbanker.blogspot.com/2009/06/some-clarification-on-yahoo-issues.html">Original source</a><br /><br /><br /> <div style="margin-top: 10px; height: 15px;" class="zemanta-pixie"><a class="zemanta-pixie-a" href="http://reblog.zemanta.com/zemified/b744fbd5-9bf8-4154-a88e-7717c0251706/" title="Reblog this post [with Zemanta]"><img style="border: medium none ; float: right;" class="zemanta-pixie-img" src="http://img.zemanta.com/reblog_c.png?x-id=b744fbd5-9bf8-4154-a88e-7717c0251706" alt="Reblog this post [with Zemanta]" /></a><span class="zem-script more-related"><script type="text/javascript" src="http://static.zemanta.com/readside/loader.js" defer="defer"></script></span></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-936113859701796819.post-20398165562893959012009-07-02T19:03:00.000-07:002009-07-02T19:22:28.143-07:00Fedora 12 Release name as Constantine.<a class="zem_slink" href="http://fedoraproject.org/" title="Fedora" rel="homepage">Fedora</a> 11 is already released and planning for Fedora 12 is also going on. To codename Fedora 12 the <a class="zem_slink" href="http://www.redhat.com" title="Red Hat" rel="homepage">red hat</a> community gave a list of option to vote for. The options were<span style="font-family: monospace;"><br /><br /></span>* Chilon<span style="font-family: monospace;"><br /></span>* Constantine<span style="font-family: monospace;"><br /></span>* Orville<span style="font-family: monospace;"><br /></span>* Rugosa<span style="font-family: monospace;"><br /></span>* Umbria<br /><br />Fedora 11 is called "Leonidas" and has a link with the name of Fedora 10 as "Cambridge". Cambridge and Leonidas were both ships of the United States Navy. In the same way "Leonidas" and "Constantine" are townships in the state of Michigan, USA. It is said that the tradition is of creating linked pairs of codenames.<br /><br />But the <a href="https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-announce-list/2009-June/msg00017.html">official mailing list</a> of Fedora has a different story to tell.<br /><pre><blockquote>As defined in the election text, the one (1) candidate with the greatest<br />number of votes will be chosen as the Fedora 12 Release Name.</blockquote></pre>So the greatest number of votes were put to Constantine and hence the name was chosen. So from now the Release name of Fedora 12 will be "Constantine"<br /><br /><br /> <div style="margin-top: 10px; height: 15px;" class="zemanta-pixie"><a class="zemanta-pixie-a" href="http://reblog.zemanta.com/zemified/ae5d3c6b-39cb-46b5-bcea-e908b92d6cc4/" title="Reblog this post [with Zemanta]"><img style="border: medium none ; float: right;" class="zemanta-pixie-img" src="http://img.zemanta.com/reblog_c.png?x-id=ae5d3c6b-39cb-46b5-bcea-e908b92d6cc4" alt="Reblog this post [with Zemanta]" /></a><span class="zem-script more-related"><script type="text/javascript" src="http://static.zemanta.com/readside/loader.js" defer="defer"></script></span></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
